      Part.B:疑難語句細解

      I lived in what you call “Ancient Greece” and I used to write about the Olympic Games a long time ago.

      分析:(1)what you call“Ancient Greece”是由 what引導的賓語從句,做介詞 in的賓語,同時 what在賓語從句中做 call的間接賓語。

      (2)句型 used to 表示“過去常常做某事(暗含現在不做了或不是了之意)”,后接動詞原形,既可表過去的動作,亦可表過去的狀態。

      知識拓展:1、 be used to do sth.意為“被用于做某事”,其中不定式表示目的。

      2、be/get/become used to (doing) sth.意為“習慣于(做)某事”,其中

      的to是介詞。

      分析:句型 the +比較級,the +比較級,表示 “越……,越……”

      其中前者是條件從句,后者是主句。

      分析:not only...but also...是并列連詞,連接各種并列成分also可省略,強調的重點在后面,連接兩個主語時,謂語動詞和鄰近的主語保持一致,采用就近原則。

      擴展:主謂采用就近原則的并列連詞還有:either....or...;neither...nor...;...or...等。

      聯想:as well as連接主語時,謂語動詞和前面的主語保持一致的詞,類似短語還有:with, along with, together with, but, besides, rather than等。如:

      (1)布朗先生跟他的妻子和三個孩子已經來中國三年了

      Mr Brown together with his wife and three children has been in China for three years.

      It/This/That is(was) the first/second/third/last time that...某人第幾次做某事

      注意:在此句型結構中,若主句事態為一般現在時,則that引導的定語從句要用現在完成時,若主句為過去事態,則that引導的定語從句要用過去完成時。
