      I. Teaching aims

      Student’s Book: Learning about language

      Workbook: Using Structures Part 2

      1. ability aims

      a. Discover useful words and expressions and use them in their reading and writing

      b. Discover useful structures and use them in their activities

      2. language aims

      a. Be able to use the important words and expressions from Warming Up and Reading

      b. Be able to use the attributive clauses introduced by “preposition+ which” and “preposition+ whom”

      c. Use what the students have learned to pick out and correct mistakes in sentences

      II. Teaching important points

      1. learn to use these words and expressions: musical instrument, musician, fan, hit, karaoke, advertisement, dream of, passer-by, bu honest with, break up

      2. how to use the structures “prep.+ which” and “prep.+ whom”: when to use “which” and when to use “whom”; what preposition to use

      III. Teaching methods:

      task-based learning; individual, pair or group activities

      IV. Teaching aids: computer with a projector

      V. Teaching procedures

      Step I : From the reading passage, find the words and expressions with the following meaning from the passage.

      Step II : Complete the passage with the words given in Step 1.

      Step III: Pair or group activity: Play a game called “What is your dream?”The

      purpose of this game is to let the students share their dreams as well as using the expression “I dream of –ing…” correctly

      Step IV: Discover the structure “prep.+ 關(guān)系代詞” by sorting out the messages

      Step V Show students more examples and practice of the structure

      Step VI Workbook: There is a grammatical error in each of the sentences. Read carefully and then correct it.
