　　When I am dead, My dearest,

　　Sing no sad songs for me;

　　Plant thou no roses at my head,

　　Nor shady cypress tree：

　　Be the green grass above me

　　With showers and dewdrops wet;

　　And if thou wilt, forget.

　　I shall not see the shadows,

　　I shall not feel the rain;

　　I shall not hear the nightingale

　　Sing on, as if in pain;

　　And dreaming through the twilight

　　That doth not rise nor set,

　　Haply I may remember,

　　只怕我不能感受甘淋的行蹤，

　　只怕我無法覺察濃蔭的模樣;

　　縱使夜鶯唱起沉痛的挽歌，

　　只怕我也無從欣賞。

　　在永恒的混沌中迷幻，

　　在不盡的朦朧里游蕩;

　　或許，我會將你拋到腦后，

　　或許，我會將你記在心上。

　　克里斯蒂娜喬治娜羅塞蒂(Christina Georgina Rossetti 1830—1894)英國詩人詩人面對死亡為愛人留下了這恬淡樸實的絕筆。無牽無掛,超凡脫俗, 順其自然地回歸自然, 這是一個沒有托付任何凡俗瑣事的遺囑。這遺囑異乎尋常, 卻又合于情理,恬淡之中隱隱透漏出濃濃的一片真情。用漢語來吟唱這訣別之歌當然也得舒緩流暢、韻律和諧優美、風格樸實恬淡、情感清雅真摯。
