（3）構(gòu)成。其主語(yǔ)是若干個(gè)個(gè)體，其賓語(yǔ)為由這些個(gè)體構(gòu)成的整體。當(dāng)句子是被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu)時(shí)，其后應(yīng)加of。
Nine players make up a team.

（4）化裝、打扮。化裝或打扮的部位是臉部，可同時(shí)作不及物動(dòng)詞和及物動(dòng)詞。
The actors were making (themselves) up when we arrived.
These days many girls make up when they are still quite young.
（5）湊足、補(bǔ)足。意為湊足或補(bǔ)足所需的數(shù)目。
The toy cost a dollar and Ted only had fifty cents, so Father made up the difference.
